Korda Longshank Beaked

The Korda Longshank Beaked Hooks are built upon the foundation of the original Korda Longshank X fishing hook, which itself drew inspiration from popular fly hook patterns that had gained favour among carp anglers for their shape and exceptional hooking ability. Korda took this successful design and improved upon it by enhancing its strength and sharpness. Now, two decades later, Danny Fairbrass has once again refined this ultimate carp catcher based on his extensive underwater carp fishing experiences, making it an even deadlier weapon in his angling arsenal.

One significant change made to this carp hook is the incorporation of a beaked point. Through rigorous testing, it was found that the beaked point significantly increased the hook’s ability to securely hold onto fish, resulting in a higher ratio of hooked fish to landed fish. Another key modification was the further in-turning of the eye. While the original Korda hook pattern featured a 20-degree in-turned eye, the new beaked version increases this angle to 40 degrees. This adjustment allows the hook to swiftly flip and turn in the carp’s mouth, ensuring consistently solid hook holds.

Staying true to the original pattern, the Korda Longshank Beaked hooks are forged with a stepped-up wire gauge for added strength, while maintaining durability through a PTFE coating. Available in sizes 2, 4, 6, and 8, both barbed and barbless versions are offered to accommodate a variety of carp fishing techniques. Each pack contains ten hooks, providing anglers with ample supplies for their fishing endeavours.
